Tamworth Adult Care Panel

This is an Independent Panel set up to give disabled people and carers a voice to influence and change the delivery of services provided and commissioned by Staffordshire County Council.

Findings from the Tamworth Panel will then be taken to the Adult Care Panel Staffordshire. This group consists of a member from each of the eight district panels which report the finding from their district to the panel and will feed back decisions taken by the Adult Care Panel Staffordshire.

Alternative Formats

Following a grant from Healthier Communities and Older Peoples Partnership, a dedicated alternative formats facility has been established at our office.

This facility is staffed by volunteers, to provide an affordable service converting documents, leaflets, forms, agreements and many other items into one or more of the following formats:

Large Print
Plain Text
MP3 Audio
DAISY Digital Talking Books
Easy Reading

Our aim is to provide this service to help improve communication with disabled people within the community.

Shopmobility

We are working in partnership with Tamworth Borough Council to run the Shopmobility Service based on Level 5 of Ankerside Car Park in Tamworth.

This service has Scooters, Powered Wheelchairs and Manual Wheelchairs for hire on a part day basis allowing people with mobility problems to get around the Town Centre to do their shopping.

Assistive Technology

Having a disability can make performing some day to day tasks challenging. There are many aids and technologies available which can assist with these tasks.

We have a selection of aids available in our online store, and we plan to expand the list of available products over time.

We have a selection of aids and equipment designed to support your independence at home and when you are out and about.

We have a catalogue showing a selection of aids and equipment, which we are happy to send out to you.
